I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I'm currently spending 18 months of my life sharing my joy and knowledge with some wonderful people in Bolivia.
I've always had a thirst for adventure and an eagerness to try new things. From the time I was a little girl, I entertained the thought of serving a full-time mission and wondered what it would be like to spend 24 hours a day, 7 days a week completely focused on the Lord and other people. I let that tiny desire work in me as I grew older and focused on other aspects of my life.
Flash forward to October 2013, when all of my friends were leaving me to serve missions and I got a bad case of the mission fever. I became obsessed with missionary work and constantly thought and prayed about whether I should be joining my friends out in the field. After much prayer and fasting, I made the decision to start my mission paperwork and immediately was free of all doubt and fear regarding the situation.
I received my call in June 2014 to discover that I would be serving in the Bolivia Santa Cruz mission and preaching the gospel in the Spanish language. I'm leaving my family, friends, and educational pursuits from October 2014-April 2014 but I know it's going to be absolutely worth it.
Throughout my life, my greatest happiness and joy has come through the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I want everyone I meet to know of that joy and peace and that is exactly why I chose to serve a mission.
